Americas crime statistics are shocking! Police in this country investigate 14.5 MILLION crimes each year. Some of the crimes include 2300 murders, 100,000 rapes, 3,000,000 burglaries and 1,000,000 assaults. The state with the least overall crime was West Virginia. West Virginia finished seventh overall on the violent crime list. The state with the lowest violent crime rate was North Dakota. It averages only 415 violent crimes each year. California finished a dismal forty-seventh on the violent crime list and forty-sixth on the overall reported crime list making it one of the most dangerous states to live in.
